Erratum

Just dropped by to correct some mistakes... before I do... I'd just like to thank you to those who have corrected me on some of my mistakes from the previous entry. As I've said.. experts, correct me if I'm wrong... who else would than those who know best...
Okay...
1. The file that I was frustratingly downloading which by the way I failed to during that time but, was successful just this evening/midnight (I'm enjoying it right now with full head bob for the past hour...) is not Paul Thomas' August 6 mix... rather it's Paul Thomas' 2006 August Mix.
2. Also, the file isn't 1 hour and 25 minutes long, it's 1 hour and 25 seconds long... not 1:25:00 but 1:00:25.
3. The group I was referring to... the one alongside Wolfgang is not Kamikaze but Kamikazee
4. Anton Ramos' cd is not entitled Chillout Project: House Series, it's Chill Out Project: House Sessions Series.
.... so far that's it. I'd be posting my comment on the Paul Thomas mix soon. I'm just a bit busy with work plus I'm doing my surfing and net-related stuff over the notebook since our desktop is down at the moment. Need to catch some zzzs now! Post and comment on...

Ofc.

Urghness!!! I’m currently in the process of downloading Paul Thomas’ mix last August 6. FYI, the file is 1 hour and 25 minutes long, that’s 82.99mb of pure house/techno music… bit rate at 192Kbps and I’m being tortured since my office desktop is as fast as traffic along the South Super Highway (south bound) every Friday night! Every minute, I go back to my WMP to check if I’ve finished with it but, I only get another snippet of the whole pie… Just when I start to bob my head the beat stops and I have to wait another minute to wait for another snippet so that I could resume my head bobbing… torture, torture, torture!!!

For those of you who know me, I’m a self confessed house addict. I’ve always been appreciative of all music genre from Chopin, Mozart and Beethoven to the likes of Frankie and Aretha, to Human League and OMD, to a bit of Wolfgang and Kamikaze to Lea Salonga and Andrew Lloyd Webber to Mr. Groban and Bocelli, to the mush of Brickman, the grooves of BEP, the funnies of Parokya to the reflective sounds of Arun Gogna and Don Moen… and I could go on and on and on. But nothing could make my heart race like house music. House in whatever form… progressive, deep house, chillout, electronica.. well for me it’s all house! Hmm… come to think of it… what defines house music… let me check my google for a while…

I’m back. Okay… I got this lengthy read from Wikipedia. The article kindda matches my general description of what I consider house music. It’s basically beats… remixes, new mixes.. whatever… for all of you unfamiliar with house, there’s really no amount of reading that will describe what house is… you’ve got to experience it. (Haha! Promo, promo!) I’d suggest Anton Ramos’ Chillout Project: House Series for beginners. Don’t rush in to the “advance level” right away… it’s an acquired taste… you’d want to start with the head bob before you take in the heart pounding sensation of Deep or Hard house… (I’m really not an expert.. I’m just a constantly emergent addict… those of you experts out there.. help me out here… hehe!)

My like for this kind of music started way back during what I call my clubbing days. I only got to know that I have learned to love it when I started listening to Deep house and Electronica. (My favoritest electronica of all time: Benny Benassi’s The Biz… (where Satisfaction, Able To Love and I Love My Sex came from) I think my WAG’s speakers got busted because of this album… hehe!) I’m really glad that it’s slowly making it’s way to the mainstream specially with Bonnie Bailey’s Ever After (check out January 2004's entry Ever After) rising to no1 in RX 93.1 (and probably other stations) late last year. I’m starting to get more hits when I download too. I guess more and more are getting the hang of drowning in the beats.

Well, I can go on and on raving about house music. It just gives me a special high, transporting me into a dance/beat/”it” zone. Hahaha! It’s a heck of an experience… a note though… just have to say it… you don’t have to take anything to enjoy house. The natural high is the best way to fill the senses. So, turn it up loud, get your spirits high and let your body loose… house it up!!!

Somehow, I know that it’s going to be a lovely day. I’ve been really down these past few days. It has actually been a whirl wind. But generally, it’s been… um… down. Today though, I can feel that it’s totally going to be different.

I woke up a few minutes before my alarm rang. I lingered a bit in bed and got up at the sound of Love Generation from my phone signaling that it’s exactly 6:30am. Though my mom got ahead of me in the shower, it was perfect time for me to post the seemingly poem I made last night, download some songs and transfer them to the SD. After which, I started to get ready for another day of support and configuration… I knew that I didn’t need to fast forward my routine, Thursdays for some matter prove to be the most decongested day along EDSA. In fact, I had time to chit chat with mom regarding her hair products that I had to use since mine ran out. (I miss talking to her about nonchalant things). I left at past 8, had time to warm up WAG before I shifted to Drive, drove easily along the route I know so well, parked at the woods, was just in time to squeeze in the almost packed elevator and then clocked in 3minutes before 9 and got the usual cubicle that I work in! Amazing!!! (You see, usually, when you’re this “late” you just might not get the chance to get “your seat”. We’re employing the Active Directory, AD as we call it, in our office. It’s a hotelling system that allows the employees to sit wherever they want to within their cluster on a first come-first serve basis… more on that later on…) I called my baby to say good morning and that I’m safely at the office, learned that he went to mass early this morning accompanying his papa since it’s papa’s birthday today and bade him a have a nice day.. mwah, mwah, mwah. After putting the phone down, we went straight to the coffee area for some “kilig” stories from Jengchenebelles while having breakfast. Everything was going quite smoothly, I had to cap it off with a cup of coffee… (sorry baby, I just have to… mild lang naman eh.. )

Now that it’s just the second day after payroll, I know that my phone would be on a quieter mode, things would be a bit less stressful so I can kick back and relax. I’m now listening to my new house playlist (thanks to the tip off I got) and I’m so liking it! Hope this day turns out to be just as how it started…. Updates later…

Shout Out

08.16.2006

Can you hear what I’m saying?
I wonder
Of all the people in the world
It’s you who can’t ponder

All you see is my pout, my stare, my anger
You miss the essential things…
What’s the matter?

Am I too vague?
Probably getting too complex
Baby, try to listen…
It’ll stop your being vexed

I hurt so much when you shut me out
Don’t take me for granted
I’m not for a single bout

Meet me half way
We’re not all about you
It takes two to tango
I exist too.

Being in a relationship allows you to be selfless and more considerate of others. For me, it’s one of the gifts that any relationship brings, not just in a romantic one. It’s a give and take thing… not that you should keep track… you feel it.. it just is.

You know who you are. Give her a break. It’s time you give her more… not the material things.. oh no… give her the things that she really needs… what things? Try to listen…

Getting Inspiration

For the past few days, I've been rummaging through my brain for a topic to write (blog) about. Believe me, there must have been a hundred of things from petty stuff like traffic in Edsa, this new song I so love, my day to day activities to profound ones such as the lack of spirituality that has led to a deeper sense of dissatisfaction in my life or my desire to do something about it and finally step out of this cavernous pit. Unfotunately, I couldn't pick out a single one that I could delve into passionately.

I've been blog hopping from friends to strangers hoping to get a spark of inspiration... nothing. Until this very moment, I find myself staring at the monitor, trying to make sense.

Ordinary People

by: John Legend

Girl im in love with you

This ain't the honeymoon
Past the infatuation phase
Right in the thick of love
At times we get sick of love
It seems like we argue everyday

I know i misbehaved
And you made your mistakes
And we both still got room left to grow
And though love sometimes hurts
I still put you first
And we'll make this thing work
But I think we should take it slow

We're just ordinary people
We don't know which way to go
Cuz we're ordinary people
Maybe we should take it slow (Take it slow oh oh ohh)
This time we'll take it slow (Take it slow oh oh ohh)
This time we'll take it slow

This ain't a movie no
No fairy tale conclusion ya'll
It gets more confusing everyday
Sometimes it's heaven sent
Then we head back to hell again
We kiss then we make up on the way

I hang up you call
We rise and we fall
And we feel like just walking away
As our love advances
We take second chances
Though it's not a fantasy
I Still want you to stay

We're just ordinary people
We don't know which way to go
Cuz we're ordinary people
Maybe we should take it slow (Take it slow oh oh ohh)
This time we'll take it slow (Take it slow oh oh ohh)
This time we'll take it slow

Take it slow
Maybe we'll live and learn
Maybe we'll crash and burn
Maybe you'll stay, maybe you'll leave, maybe you'll return
Maybe another fight
Maybe we won't survive
But maybe we'll grow
We never know baby you and I

We're just ordinary people
We don't know which way to go
Cuz we're ordinary people
Maybe we should take it slow
We're just ordinary people
We don't know which way to go
Cuz we're ordinary people
Maybe we should take it slow (Take it slow oh oh ohh)
This time we'll take it slow (Take it slow oh oh ohh)
This time we'll take it slow
